A room for the work that’s still becoming.
Dada Lounge is a live, informal space for trying things out with other people in the room. Bring a poem, a story, a sound, a film, a scene, a strange idea, or a fragment that has no name yet.
Each Wednesday, from November 25th to December 16th 2026 artists and audiences meet at Barnoon Arts for an evening of performance, listening and discovery. Some things may be polished. Some may be happening for the first time. That’s the point.
This is not an open mic. It’s an open experiment.
Bring the thing you’re making. Bring the thing you’re not sure about yet.
Let’s see what happens in a room together.
A small collective.
Many ways in.
Many ways in.
Dada Lounge is held by a small collective of performers, artists, storytellers and sound artists. We make space for different voices, practices and levels of experience and we’re here to help each evening find its own shape.

THE BIG CELLAR COLLECTIVE
see youtube channel
The Big Cellar Collective exhibition ran from Saturday, 16th September, to Friday, 22nd September 2023, open to the public daily from 10 am to 10 pm. We chose the iconic Cellar 1 beneath Porthmeor Studios as the venue for this remarkable event, with the aim of rekindling the sense of community between artists and fishermen-an important connection that has diminished in recent years under the pressure of the growing tourist industry. Our primary objective was to create an immersive and unforgettable experience for visitors by blending captivating soundscapes and ambient music with the exhibition. These elements enhanced the atmosphere, inviting visitors to engage deeply with the artwork and embark on a truly unique sensory journey.

This event was one off chance to utilise an amazing space in the historic hub of St Ives, beneath the renown Porthmeor Studios. Cellar 1 is a working fishermen cellar that was for the occasion cleared from all tools and paraphernalia of the busy community of fishermen and gave space for a week during the September Festival to a vibrant Collective of artists . Throughout this week, in addition to hosting an artist-led exhibition, we organised a series of 'pay what you can' events. These events included Spoken Word performances and ambient live music sessions, complemented by a licensed bar. Here below you'll find links to videos and sound files of the performers involved.
